Good morning and welcome back to Maglio Markets In A Minute, the next episode, episode 2. Nice to see you this morning hope everyone had a lovely Labor Day weekend got some rest and you’re back at it ready to go for this short week, I know we’re excited personally, but I’m always excited.I’m a peacock you got to let me fly.So again welcome back, episode one was a smash hit by all definitions of the word, because we had likes, we had some comments, we even had some new subscribers.I mean most of that came from my mother, but still a couple of you out there saw it and liked it, so we appreciate you and we’re glad to have you back here this week. We did have people ask us where we were last week, we got kicked out of the conference room here at the global headquarters in Glendale, Wisconsin, for the Maglio Companies. Probably there was a fake plant convention in town so we had to give up the conference room where we’re swimming in them apparently. We were in our north dock which is our indoor dock basically, so we were by some old equipment, some stainless tables, and whatnot, so we had a little bit of an echo, but I think we learned from that and we moved on. Maybe, May Manski, maybe we start having like on-location shoots where we go around and show people the inner workings of the Maglio Companies, that could be fun, we’ll be like a vlog. Brilliant ideas unfolding here at Maglio Markets In A Minute right before your eyes, that’s great, this is why we do it man, we’re excited about it. So we should jump right into it because you only have a minute, I’m definitely going to go over because I’m pumped up today like I always am because it’s produce, so why not get excited. We got 60 seconds on the clock, let’s do it, we even have a shout-out at @launchpad30 on Instagram to cover the northeast, so we should do that. Put 60 seconds on our clock here, ready set, oh, by the way, I did not come up with ready set let’s roll, that’s definitely stolen from somewhere because I am not that creative, we should find out. With a contest, the first person to tell us where I stole the ready set let’s roll from gets free Maglio swag.LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, let us know where we stole that from because it’s definitely not original and by you letting us know you win some free Maglio swag and you help us avoid a pending lawsuit later with whomever, that what we call a win-win. With that being said, we’ll start off with that comment about the northeast and we’ll use the ready set let’s roll one more time, why not until we’re told otherwise? All right 60 seconds on the clock, Manske thank you very much, ready set let’s roll, what’s going on in the northeast great question at @launchpad30.What you have up there is you’ve got new crop potatoes, onions, pears, and apples, because of that you’re also getting a lot of demand right now from school programs in the USDA Farmers to Families Box Program which is eating up a lot of the demand on that smaller fruit so as result markets are definitely pushing up on all those items almost daily so make sure you get your orders in early.Summary of that whole thing, new crop who dis. Moving forward, tomatoes definitely firmed up as predicted in last week’s markets in a minute, larger sizes definitely going up a little bit getting firmer about $9.95, $10.95, for big fruit on round tomatoes out in California. Grape tomatoes also going up, Roma tomatoes are still relatively cheap, not much action there. Lime market coming off slightly, but still higher than it should be for the seasonal norms right now, but the biggest mover right now is your California veg. All the heat out there, all the fires creating burn and creating issues on the product itself, so if you get ash in the product make sure your receivers are aware but otherwise you’re seeing issues in that upon arrival which usually manifests five to seven days after you see the first initial damage from the heat itself on the plant. Besides that, I’m going way over, we got peppers getting a little bit stronger, you got rain in some local growing regions, you’ve got Michigan and New Jersey having issues, so cucumber’s going up a little bit, squash going up a little bit. I am way over on time, what else we got going on, we got cheap melons as always they love the heat. It was close, I mean let’s be real, if I go over 30 seconds that’s a, is that a new record, it might be. So yeah, if I missed anything like I missed most of the produce world, let us know, hit us up again we’re very open to talking about produce. I could talk about produce to this wall for an hour if I wanted to so, by all means, let us know again 414-906-8800 give us a call, ask for Uncle PJ, we’ll talk about produce or LinkedIn, Instagram, Youtube, Facebook, give us a comment. You’ve got produce questions, we’ve got produce answers, otherwise, hope everyone has a fantastic rest of the day and until later catch you later.
