Maglio Markets In A Minute fam what is going on this Wednesday morning? And I know what you’re thinking, why isn’t the camera on Paul? I need to see him, I need, I need to know what’s going on with the facial hair. There you have it, it is monkey tail time. The most wonderful time of the year. Like the masters, it’s a tradition unlike any other. So the monkey tail loops around and finishes there, it’s a very crisp, very professional look, thank you to everyone who guessed and was part of it, but at the end of the day, the monkey tail is just what the people wanted. Unless you’re any female on the face of the earth, and then you just ask “why?” and it’s a fair question, and it’s just the result of a lot of hard work, a long month of not shaving, and having way too much time on my hands. So it’s the perfect storm for an excellent result, so that is honestly the most exciting thing to happen in this week’s markets in a minute, but I hope it’s everything that you’ve all been dreaming of since we first teased this on the roof, I believe is when that first happened in that episode, so that was that. A classic little change of scenery here today as I am running out of spaces to film these things, so here is my desk, those are my kids, just joking. So this is Maria’s desk, thank you Maria by the way for letting me commandeer your desk for this. Love you, appreciate you, so yeah, here we are. Markets are quiet, it’s kind of weird out there, it’s like classic 2020, it’s busy, it’s not busy, markets are up, markets are down, gold jacket, green jacket, who cares. So we’re just gonna figure it out together, I’m gonna jump right into a market update, but first and foremost, a big shout out to River Valley Logistics, if you need any freight moved in or out of the midwest, I highly recommend my friend Mark Lanham at River Valley Logistics. He’ll get you covered, tell him that you saw it on Maglio Markets In A Minute and he’ll say “what is that?” so get him on board. So that is the beginning of this episode, May how are you? Let’s do this right above, right over here. We’ll do some sort of a clock thing, I know last week I was all over the place and had no lapel mic today because I don’t think it works, but anyway, markets, one minute, quick shout out for the monkey tail, and ready, set, let’s roll. Things are boring, things are weird this week down here in McAllen, a little bit of Mexico action, things are trying to get a little bit firmer, colored peppers trying, cucumbers trying, squash is coming down, squashes were high, now coming back down to more reasonable levels, otherwise you’ve got tomatoes that are relatively quiet down here, bigger sizes, harder to come by smaller sizes, on romas and rounds, very available. Lime’s a little cheaper this week, lemon’s still available out here, out west in California things are also coming back down, so those Thanksgiving items, the cauliflower, the broccoli, the celery, all kind of coming back down to normal levels, we’re talking mid-teens on most things, same with lettuce. Let us finally get in some relief, perfect growing conditions in the desert this week which is helping plus some quiet buying markets across the country this week, I mean cities shutting down, restaurants not opening, it’s just a very strange time so markets are getting much cheaper on those items that were expensive just 10 days ago. Otherwise, besides that, offshore melons started looking good, we have apples in the northeast looking good, potatoes looking good, but they’re a little bit more expensive this year. Why? What’s going on there? It’s the freight rates, December means Christmas trees, means higher freight rates out of the northeast, that’s over a minute but that was still pretty well ready, break! That was good, I liked that episode, it went well. I think the scenic office helped a lot but I think the real winner here is you because you got to see the monkey tail for the first time in your life, for some of you, so thanks to everyone for watching, as always I hope thanksgiving was great, hope everyone stays safe, continue to stay safe out there, we appreciate you guys coming back to watch, as always, yeah you need anything, you let us know, we’re still down here in South Texas. No palm trees behind me, no fancy bagging machine, just the, you know, my pseudo kids, so have a great rest of the week, if you need anything, you call us, you DM us, you text us, you email us, we’re here for you here at Maglio Markets In A Minute and we wish you the best of days, catch you later.
