Yeehaw! Buenos diaz and welcome to Maglio Markets In A Minute, the South Texas chronicles if you couldn’t tell by my sweatshirt. We are here in the Rio Grande Valley, still in McAllen here shooting from the offices of Maglio McAllen. Of course, produce house so you’ve got maps on the wall, USA, Mexico, they’re all, god it is hard to point with a 10-gallon hat, but clearly, fashion comes first and so I gotta do what I gotta do. This hat was actually a gift from a girl at the gas station down here, shout out LT Gray on the corner of Sherry and Military highway. She thought it would help me look like I fit in more, so clearly, mission accomplished. 10-gallon hats here in South Texas, Maglio Markets In A Minute week two from down here. On Monday we released the desk tour, hope everyone liked that. A lot of positive feedback, people saying they’re gonna send stuff in if you want to, great, we’ll see if it makes the cut because clearly, we run a tight ship when it comes to making the cut for things that we keep around, but that was fun to do, hopefully, we could do some more like that in the coming weeks. We’re here again in South Texas, markets I mean are relatively quiet, all things considered, but how do you bring produce alive? You wear an oversized hat and you talk about it quickly, so we’re gonna jump right into it. Obviously, May Manski’s still not here, I’m selfie-ing this, my arm is getting tired but May we’re gonna put the clock, can we put the clock like here? That’s a nice, bold, like May right here, please. I miss you by the way, so I’m gonna jump right into it. We’re gonna make this exciting, I wasn’t saying ready set let’s roll in Spanish but sounds like a lot of work so three, two, one, ready set let’s roll. Tomatoes out in California pushing that dollar per pound FOB, I know it’s Halloween, but grow up Peter Pan, Count Chocula that’s not gonna hold, the market’s coming way down on that California season. Basically done. Jumping over to Florida, asking about that same dollar per pound price, it’s bound to fall with romas coming on from Mexico, grape tomatoes coming on from Mexico market dropping about five to six dollars in each commodity. So because of that, you’re going to have some softer markets on tomatoes moving forward as you go towards the holiday season. Sticking out in California, romaine what’s going on? Great question, is it forty dollars? Is it thirty dollars? Is it twenty dollars? Is it D, all of the above? Ding ding ding! What’s behind door number four, it’s all the above. The three-tiered market right now, salinas going here, ongoing you might even go for a little bit of lettuce so because of that you got different qualities, different prices. What else in California is not much cheap, cauliflower cheap, broccoli cheap, celery down in Mexico as I said. Here, we started with cucumbers, we have limes, we have squash, everything is very cheap right now as the season first starts. georgia also has the same product, besides the limes, pricing is very cheap for right now because they’re flushing trying to keep up with mexico. At the same point, watermelon is also down here very exciting, offshore melons about a month, let’s call it 10 to 14 days away, and ready, scene! Perfect hair, every time, that was dramatic, that was fun, had a nice time. I definitely went over, definitely not even close I’m sure but that was that. Am I sweating? Am I greasy? That’s for you to find out at a later time, so thank you for joining us, as always, questions let us know. Next week will probably still be down here in the valley so maybe a different location. I was going to go on the roof today, but it was a little cold plus i mean I don’t know about you but i don’t do well if it’s below 60, so 59 I got a pass, so maybe next time we’ll get a nice shot from the roof. See what’s going on there? In the meantime, have a fantastic rest of the week, as always, been a pleasure, any questions, let us know, slide in the DMS, email, 414-906-8800, you got the information, make it happen if you want to, otherwise have a great rest of the day, week, and as always, we’ll catch you later.
